Training at Gilwell Park
Gilwell is the home of Scouting and a course at Gilwell is an experience you will never forget. Courses provide the opportunity to meet and work with people from all over the UK and other countries.
Gilwell aim to provide a programme of courses which supplement those available locally. This is why many of their courses take place during the working week or provide the opportunity to carry out our training in block rather than over a number of weekends.
Accommodation for indoor courses is provided in quality rooms, many with en-suite facilities. For outdoor courses Gilwell ask that you bring a tent and sleeping bag, as you will be camping out on the orchard or the training ground. They will provide all your meals - many of which will be in their restaurant.
Headquarters would like all Leaders to have a chance to attend a course at Gilwell so if you need financial support please let them know as there is a bursary fund available. Money should not be a barrier to attending a course. Confidential enquiries concerning financial support should be made to the Director of Programme and Development.
